Free SVG files picked for adhesive and heat-transfer vinyl. Each was measured: one piece, nothing thinner than 1 mm when cut 2 inches across, and no more than 40 cut-outs to weed.

Vinyl fails in two ways: thin parts lift or tear as you weed, and designs with dozens of tiny cut-outs take longer to weed than to cut. So the designs here pass two tests. Their thinnest part is at least 1 mm wide at 2 inches across, and they have no more than 40 outlines in all. Within each set, the ones with the shortest cut are shown first.
Bigger is always easier. If you are cutting at 4 inches or more, almost everything in the full library will weed without trouble.
Cutting and weeding tips
- Do a small test cut first. The right blade depth cuts the vinyl and only scores the backing.
- Weed from a corner at a low angle, and warm stubborn vinyl slightly with a hair dryer.
- For heat-transfer vinyl, mirror the design before cutting. Symmetric designs look the same either way; anything with a direction does not.
- Use transfer tape for designs with separate inner details so they keep their spacing.
Sizes for common jobs
- Mug or tumbler: 2.5 to 3.5 inches.
- Car window decal: 4 to 6 inches.
- Adult T-shirt front: 9 to 11 inches wide.
- Laptop: 2 to 4 inches.
Questions
How small can I cut these in vinyl?
Every design here stays at 1 mm or wider at 2 inches across. Each design’s page shows its narrowest part at 1 inch too; under 1 mm, expect slow weeding.
Do I need to mirror the file?
For heat-transfer vinyl, yes: it is cut from the back. For adhesive vinyl, no, unless it goes on the inside of a window.
