Free boxing glove SVG files

Free boxing gloves SVG files: a single laced glove, pairs side by side, crossed and hanging from a nail, a punch with a burst, a mandala glove, pink and red-and-blue layered pairs and a championship belt. Crossed and hanging pairs are welded where the gloves overlap.

How the gloves are drawn

Each glove is three shapes: a round mitt, a thumb that lies against its side and a cuff that flares towards the wrist. The edge of the thumb, the two bands of the cuff and the crossed laces are fine cuts about 1.2 mm wide when the single glove is 100 mm tall. They stop short of the outline, so the glove stays in one piece however small you cut it.

On the crossed and hanging pairs, one glove lies over the other. A thin gap follows the edge of the front glove across the back one and stops about 2 mm from each side. That is enough to show which glove is in front, and it means a crossed or hanging pair lifts off the mat together.

Sizes and colours

For a shirt front, cut a pair at 200 to 250 mm wide. At that size the laces weed easily. For a water bottle or a gym bag tag at 60 to 80 mm, use the single glove or the punch, and leave the laces unweeded if they are fiddly.

Red is the classic glove colour. The pink pairs are made for awareness events, and the red and blue pair stands for the two corners of the ring. All three layered files can be recoloured in your cutting software.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

How do I add a name to the boxing gloves?

Use the crossed gloves with a banner. Type the name in your cutting software, fit it inside the ribbon and either slice it out or cut it from a second colour. For a longer name, stretch the design sideways a little: the ribbon takes it better than the gloves do.

Which design works for a breast cancer awareness shirt?

The boxing gloves with a pink ribbon. It comes in three layers: cut the ribbon in a deep pink, the gloves in a lighter pink and the lines in a dark pink or black. Press the ribbon first, then the gloves, then the lines.

Can I hang a real pair of cut gloves from a string?

Yes, for a car mirror charm or a tree ornament. Cut two single gloves from 3 mm wood or acrylic at 60 to 80 mm tall, drill a small hole in each cuff and tie them to one loop of cord so they hang at different heights.
