Free toilet paper SVG files

Free toilet paper SVG files: a roll with a hanging sheet, a silhouette, an outline, an empty tube, a roll on a holder, a stack of three, a toilet from the side and from the front, a Christmas roll, an ornament, a happy roll with arms and a banner for your own words.

15 designs. Free for personal and commercial use, no sign-up. What you can do with them.

How the roll is drawn

A toilet roll is hard to recognise from straight in front, where it is only a rectangle, so the main roll here lies on its side and is seen from a little to the left. One round end shows as a tall oval with the hole of the cardboard tube in it, and the loose sheet hangs down from underneath with a row of perforations and a torn edge. The rim of the end and the line where the sheet leaves the roll are slots about 2 mm wide that stop short of the edge, so the roll, its end and its sheet all lift as one piece.

Every file is 100 mm on its longer side. The plain roll is easy at any size down to about 40 mm tall, where the perforations become too small to weed and the silhouette is the better choice. The fine parts in the set are the arms of the holder and the paper that draws the heart, each a little over 2 mm wide, so cut those two at full size or larger.

Jokes, labels and Christmas

Most of these end up as jokes or as labels. The empty tube is for the sign that asks whoever finishes the roll to fetch another. The stack of three and the roll on a holder label a cupboard, a basket or a shelf. The Christmas roll and the ornament are for gag gifts: cut the ornament from white card or thin wood at 80 to 100 mm tall, and write the year or a name on its blank front. The banner leaves a long strip of paper clear for a house rule of your own.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Can I put vinyl on a real toilet roll?

Not well. Vinyl does not grip soft tissue, and it tears the top sheet when it is moved. For a gag gift, cut the design from adhesive vinyl and stick it to the paper wrapper of a wrapped roll, or cut it from card and tie it round the roll with ribbon.

What do I write on the toilet paper ornament?

Whatever the year was known for: the year itself, a family name, or a few words. The front of the roll is blank and about 60 mm wide when the ornament is 100 mm tall. Use a paint pen on wood or card, or cut small vinyl lettering in a second colour.

Which design works as a bathroom door sign?

The toilet seen from the front and the toilet from the side are the clearest at a distance, because each is a bold shape with only a few slots in it. Cut one at 100 to 150 mm from permanent vinyl, which stands up to the steam of a bathroom better than removable vinyl does.
