Free ATV SVG files

Free ATV SVG files: a 4 wheeler from the side, a silhouette with a rider, a rider catching air, a four wheeler from the front, a sport quad, a side by side with a roll cage, a UTV with a cargo bed, a father and son, a quad in the mud and a simple one for children. All generic machines with no maker’s bodywork.

Tyres, racks and what holds them on

A quad is mostly tyre, and the tyres here are drawn with their lugs: fourteen blocks round each one on the 4 wheeler from the side. When that design is 100 mm long, each tyre is about 31 mm across, the spokes of the wheel are 2.5 mm wide and the racks are a little under 3 mm thick. In vinyl it cuts well from about 100 mm long. For a shirt, 220 to 280 mm across the chest is usual, and at that size the seat seam and the engine fins weed easily.

There is a clear gap between each tyre and the fender above it, so the wheel is held to the frame by a single suspension arm that runs to the hub. Weed the gap round the tyre last, and pull towards the arm. If you need something tougher, the ATV silhouette with a rider has solid tyres and no inside cuts, and stands on a straight strip of ground.

Quad, side by side or UTV

The 4 wheeler and the sport quad are ridden astride with handlebars. The side by side has two seats next to each other, a steering wheel and a roll cage: the sport one here is low with long suspension arms, and the UTV is the working kind with a roof and a cargo bed. None of them copies a real model, so the files are safe for club shirts, trail signs and things you sell.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

What size should an ATV decal be for a helmet or a cool box?

For a helmet, 60 to 80 mm long: use the ATV silhouette with a rider or the simple ATV for children, which have no fine parts. For a cool box or a trailer, 150 to 250 mm long suits the 4 wheeler from the side and the side by side with a roll cage.

Can I add a riding number to the sport quad?

Yes. The plate on the handlebars is a solid panel about 11 mm across when the design is 100 mm long, so cut the quad at 200 mm or more and lay a number over the plate in a second colour. For a bigger number, use the ATV tyre monogram frame instead.

Why are the father and son ATVs on a strip of ground?

The strip joins the two machines so that the design cuts and transfers as one piece and the riders stay the right distance apart. If you would rather place them yourself, subtract a rectangle over the strip in your cutting software and each quad becomes a separate piece.
