Free sonographer SVG files

Free sonographer SVG files with no lettering to work around: a sonographer with a probe and gel, a silhouette by the machine, an ultrasound machine, the scan of a baby, a scan print, a probe and gel bottle, a bump being scanned, a heart with a baby, a badge of sound waves, a heartbeat line and a monogram frame.

13 designs. Free for personal and commercial use, no sign-up. What you can do with them.

Or choose one below for its PNG, DXF and cutting sizes.

The fan, the baby and how small they cut

Every ultrasound picture has the same shape, a fan that widens away from the probe, so that shape does most of the work here. On the scan of a baby the fan is solid and the baby is a single cut-out about 40 mm across when the design is 100 mm wide, with no loose parts inside it: it weeds in one pull and cuts cleanly in vinyl from about 50 mm.

The machine and the sonographer with a probe have cables about 2.3 mm wide at 100 mm. Cut those at 90 mm or more and weed along the cable. The badge is a ring with three sound waves joined to it at both ends, so it holds together in wood and acrylic as well as card.

Not only babies

Sonographers scan hearts, vessels, muscles and organs as well as pregnancies, so only four of the designs show a baby. The probe and gel bottle, the machine, the badge with sound waves and the figure suit any speciality, and the monogram ring and the margin of the scan print are open for a name, a department or a date that you set yourself.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Can I use the scan design for a pregnancy announcement?

Yes. The scan of a baby and the heart with a baby were drawn with that in mind. Add the due date or the name in your cutting software: under the fan, or in the lower margin of the scan print, which has two lines about 7 mm apart at 100 mm tall.

Is there a design for a cardiac or vascular sonographer?

The badge with sound waves, the probe and gel bottle and the ultrasound machine show no baby. The machine’s screen shows only the plain fan of a scan. Any of them can sit beside a heart or a heartbeat line from the same set.

Does the baby cut-out leave loose pieces?

No. The baby is one outline with no islands inside it, so when you weed it out of the fan or the heart nothing is left floating. If you want the baby as its own piece, cut the heart with a baby and keep what you weed.
