Free campfire SVG files

Free campfire SVG files: a fire on crossed logs, a silhouette, a fire in a stone ring, marshmallows on sticks, a camp chair by the fire, a camper trailer, a cooking pot on a tripod, an outline, a monogram frame and a layered fire in five colours.

13 designs. Free for personal and commercial use, no sign-up. What you can do with them.

Flames, logs and the gap between them

Each fire is three tongues of flame welded into one shape, with a small flame cut from the middle so the colour behind shows through like a glow. The two logs cross under it. The front log is marked off from the back one by two short cut lines about 2 mm wide when the fire is 100 mm across, which is enough to read as two logs in vinyl from 60 mm and in card from 80 mm. The campfire silhouette has no cut lines and no hollow, so use that one for very small stickers or for thick wood.

The sticks that hold the marshmallows and the legs of the camp chair are about 3 mm thick at 100 mm. They are the parts to watch when weeding: lift them last and peel along their length, not across.

Camp signs, mugs and paper scenes

A campfire goes on pitch signs, enamel mugs, scout badges, summer camp shirts and the front of a trip scrapbook. The campfire monogram frame leaves the top of its ring open for an initial. The designs with a chair, a pot, stones or a trailer all stand on a straight strip of ground, so they can be glued upright by a tab along the foot in a layered paper scene or a shadow box, with the layered fire in front for colour.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

How do I make the fire look as if it glows?

Use the layered campfire. Cut the outer flame in red, the middle flame in orange and the core in yellow, and glue them with their feet lined up. For a single-colour cut, back the hollow in the flames with yellow or orange card.

Which campfire works best on a mug?

The campfire on crossed logs or the campfire silhouette, at 60 to 70 mm wide. Both are compact, with nothing sticking out to catch when the vinyl wraps round the curve of the mug.

Will the marshmallow sticks hold at a small size?

They are a little under 3 mm thick when the design is 100 mm wide, so they hold in vinyl down to about 80 mm. Smaller than that, choose the campfire in a stone ring, which has no thin parts.
