Free lacrosse SVG files

Free lacrosse SVG files: crossed sticks with a ball, a single stick, a head close up, a player shooting, an attacker on the run, a defender with a long pole, a girls player, a goalie in the goal, a face-off, a net and a helmet. Every pocket is strung with solid strings, so the sticks cut in one piece.

Pockets and long shafts

A stick is a long thin shaft with a small head, which makes it awkward at small sizes. On the single stick at 100 mm tall the shaft is about 5 mm wide and the strings of the pocket about 2 mm, with diamonds of 4 to 5 mm between them. That weeds well in vinyl at 100 mm and above. For anything smaller, use the head close up: at 100 mm tall its strings are 2.5 mm wide and the diamonds are 9 mm across.

On the players the stick is drawn at its true length, so the head is small and is cut as an open loop without a pocket. The shaft in their gloves is the slimmest part, about 2.5 mm wide when the player is 80 mm tall. Cut the players at 120 mm or more in card and lift from the body, not the stick. The goalie and the net carry a lot of lattice: weed those from one corner, row by row.

Positions, and the two games

The attacker and the shooter carry a short stick, the defender a long pole that is as tall as the player, and the goalie a stick with a head nearly twice as wide. The girls player has no helmet and wears a kilt, as in the women’s game, where the head of the stick has a shallow pocket. None of the players carries a number, a name or team colours, so you can add your own in a second layer.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Which lacrosse design works on a team shirt?

The crossed sticks with a ball at 90 mm on the left chest, or 220 mm across the back with the team name set under it. The monogram version has an open ring over the crossing for a player’s number. The face-off is wide and low and fits across the shoulders.

Can I add a number to the lacrosse monogram?

Yes. The ring over the crossing is a little over half as wide as the whole design, so at 100 mm wide it takes a number about 40 mm tall. Type the number in your cutting software, size it to sit inside the ring with a little room, and cut it from the same colour or a second one.

Is the long pole really that long?

Yes. A defender’s pole is up to 72 inches, about 183 cm, so it stands as tall as the player. An attacker’s stick is 40 to 42 inches, about 102 to 107 cm, which is why the two silhouettes look so different.
