Free volleyball SVG files
Free volleyball SVG files: the ball with its swirling panels as a line drawing and as a solid shape, a heart-shaped volleyball, frames for initials, a ball over the net, and balls with flames, a banner or a bow. The seams are worked out on a real sphere, so the curves are even.

A white ball, so the seams are the drawing
A volleyball is white, so there is nothing to cut for the panels: the seams are the picture. Most of these files draw the ball as a rim and seams in lines 3 mm wide at the 100 mm size, joined into one piece. Cut it from black or a team colour and press it onto a white shirt, bag or bottle, and the panels show as the white underneath.
The pattern is the classic ball of eighteen panels in six sets of three. The classic view looks straight at a point where three sets meet, so it repeats every third of a turn and can sit at any angle. Lines 3 mm wide stay easy to weed down to about 50 mm across. The outline is finer, with lines 1.7 mm wide, and is meant for pens, foil and engraving at full size.
The solid ball and the net
The solid volleyball has slots about 2.8 mm wide in place of lines. Each slot stops short where it would meet another, and those ties are what hold the panels together, so do not trim them away. On the ball over the net the mesh lines are about 1.7 mm wide at 100 mm, so cut that one at full size or larger in card, and no smaller than about 80 mm in vinyl.
How to open the files
- Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
- Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
- LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
- Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
- Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.
Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.
Questions
How do I put a white volleyball on a dark shirt?
Cut the solid volleyball silhouette from white iron-on. The slots let the shirt show through as dark seams. The line versions cut from white give white seams on a dark ball instead.
How do I add initials or a name?
Three designs leave room. The frame for initials has a round window 44 mm across at the 100 mm size, the split volleyball has a clear band 20 mm tall, and the banner has a solid ribbon about 18 mm tall to carry a name in a second colour. Type the letters in your cutting software and size them to the space.
Which way up does the volleyball go?
Any way you like. The classic view repeats every third of a turn, so it has no top or bottom. Rotate it until the seams suit your layout.
