Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.87 in (25 × 22 mm)	0.53 mm	426 mm	110	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 1.74 in (51 × 44 mm)	1.1 mm	852 mm	30	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 2.61 in (76 × 66 mm)	1.6 mm	1,278 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 3.48 in (102 × 88 mm)	2.1 mm	1,704 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 5.23 in (152 × 133 mm)	3.2 mm	2,556 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 6.97 in (203 × 177 mm)	4.3 mm	3,408 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 10.45 in (305 × 265 mm)	6.4 mm	5,111 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
