Free fall wreath SVG files

Free fall wreath SVG files: wreaths of maple leaves, oak leaves and acorns, pumpkins, sunflowers and berries, with a split wreath for a family name, a clean ring for a monogram, a farmhouse hoop and a layered version in four colours. Each is one welded shape unless its note says otherwise.

What to make with them

A fall wreath is a frame as much as a picture: the leaves go round the outside and a name, a monogram or a word such as thankful goes in the middle. The usual projects are a round wooden door sign about 400 mm across, a porch or welcome sign, a Thanksgiving table runner or place cards, and a tea towel. For a door round, cut the wreath in permanent vinyl in two or three autumn colours, or cut the layered version from card for a shadow box. The split wreath and the crescent are the ones to choose when the name is long, because they leave a straight band for it.

Cutting notes

Maple leaves have teeth, and teeth are what tear when you weed small. Keep the maple, mixed and monogram wreaths at about 120 mm or more in vinyl. The leafy wreath, the oak and acorn wreath and the bow wreath have no fine teeth and go smaller, down to about 70 mm. The twig wreath has small gaps where the two twigs cross, so weed it slowly. On a laser, every single-colour wreath here cuts as one piece from 3 mm plywood, and the inner ring of the monogram wreath is a true circle that a round insert fits.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Which fall wreath is best for a family name sign?

The split wreath if the name should run straight across the middle: it has a framed band for it. The crescent if the name should sit above the leaves. For a single initial, use the monogram wreath, whose inside edge is a clean circle.

How do I cut a fall wreath in more than one colour?

Use the four-colour design: it comes as a brown backing, orange maple leaves, red oak leaves and golden berries, each on its own layer. With the single-colour wreaths, cut the same file twice in two colours and keep alternate leaves from each.

What colours suit a fall wreath?

Rust, burnt orange, mustard and deep red for the leaves, with brown for stems and acorns. On a dark sign, cream or copper stands out better than brown. One colour is enough for most signs, because the shapes of the leaves already say autumn.
