Free mistletoe SVG files
Free mistletoe SVG files drawn by code: sprigs hung from a bow, a full bunch, a kissing ball, a wreath, a heart, a vine border and a monogram hoop. The stems fork in two as real mistletoe does, and every design is one welded piece.

What makes it read as mistletoe
Mistletoe is easy to confuse with holly in a drawing, and the difference is all in the leaf and the berry. Holly has spiky leaves and red berries. Mistletoe has smooth paddle-shaped leaves in pairs, narrow at the stalk and round at the end, and white berries that sit in the forks of the stem. The stem itself forks in two again and again, which gives a sprig its even, branching outline. These files keep to that: every twig ends in a pair of leaves, and the berries are clustered where the stems divide.
Mistletoe is hung upside down, so the sprig, the bunch and the monogram hoop all grow downwards from a bow. The berries are discs 6 to 7 mm across at 100 mm, each with a small round highlight cut in it so a cluster does not read as a blob. Those highlights are the smallest things to weed; in felt or wood, use the silhouette or the simple mistletoe, which leave them out or make them larger.
Colours
The leaves are a yellowish olive green, lighter than holly, and the berries are white with a waxy look. On a white card a pure white berry disappears, so the layered file uses cream; pearl or glitter white vinyl on a coloured backing also works well. A red or gold bow is the only bright colour a mistletoe design needs.
How to open the files
- Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
- Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
- LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
- Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
- Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.
Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.
Questions
Which way up should mistletoe hang?
With the cut end of the stem at the top and the leaves pointing down, tied with a ribbon. That is how the sprig with a bow, the bunch and the kissing ball are drawn. The silhouette is the exception: it stands upright on a flat foot so it can be used as a plant in a scene.
How do I make a kissing ball ornament from the file?
Cut the kissing ball twice from green card at 80 to 100 mm tall, glue the two back to back with a loop of ribbon between them at the top, and fold the leaves of each side slightly outwards. Add small white beads or dots of pearl paint over the ring berries at the heart.
Can I cut the berries in white and the leaves in green?
Yes. Use the layered mistletoe, where leaves, berries and bow are separate layers. For any of the one-piece designs, cut the file once in green, then cut plain white discs 6 to 7 mm across and stick them over the berries.
