Free wifi sign SVG files

Free wifi SVG files: the plain fan of arcs in classic, bold, thin and outline versions, one-piece versions for wood and acrylic, the sign in a circle, a square and a house, a no wifi sign, three signal strengths and a password sign with blank panels. All are the generic signal fan, with no trademarked logo.

16 designs. Free for personal and commercial use, no sign-up. What you can do with them.

Four loose pieces, or one

The wifi fan is a dot and three arcs that do not touch. Cut as it is, that is four loose pieces, which is fine for vinyl: weed the waste and move all four with one piece of transfer tape. For anything rigid, pick a one-piece version. The solid wedge keeps its bands joined at both ends, and the circle, square, cloud, heart and house have the fan cut out of a larger shape.

Every arc is drawn from the centre of the dot, which is why the sign looks even. In the classic file the arcs are a little over 11 mm wide in a sign 100 mm across, with gaps of about 8 mm. It reads clearly down to 20 mm wide; below that use the bold version.

A guest wifi sign

The password sign is a plaque with the fan at the top and two blank windows. Cut it from adhesive vinyl and stick it to a small chalkboard or a framed card, then write the network name in the upper window and the password in the lower one, so you can change them later. At 150 mm tall each window is about 90 mm wide and 24 mm high, which is room for most passwords in a marker pen.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Is the wifi symbol free to use?

The fan of arcs with a dot is a generic sign for a wireless signal and is used freely by everyone. The trademark belongs to a different design: the black and white logo with lettering owned by the industry alliance. These files are only the generic fan, drawn from scratch.

How do I keep the arcs evenly spaced when I apply them?

Do not move the pieces one at a time. Weed the waste from round them on the backing sheet, cover the whole sign with one piece of transfer tape and lift it together. If you are painting, cut the sign in a circle or a square from stencil film and paint through the openings instead.

Which wifi design should I cut on a laser?

The one-piece wifi sign, or the sign in a circle, a square, a cloud, a heart or a house. In those nothing drops out except waste. The classic, bold and thin fans are separate arcs and suit vinyl or iron-on better.
