Free fitness SVG files

Free fitness SVG files: a dumbbell, crossed dumbbells, a loaded barbell, a kettlebell, a weight plate, a lifter with a bar overhead, a flexing arm, a heartbeat line with a dumbbell, a rack, a jump rope and a stopwatch. Plain gym kit with no numbers and no badge, each welded into one piece.

Or choose one below for its PNG, DXF and cutting sizes.

Kit that cuts cleanly

Gym equipment is made of bars and discs, which suits a cutting machine well: there are no fine points and little to weed. The dumbbell is drawn tipped up, and at full size it is about 93 mm from cap to cap with a handle about 8 mm thick. Its only small parts are the five grip slots, which are under 2 mm wide. The barbell is thinner. Its bar is just under 4 mm thick at 100 mm long, so cut it at 150 mm or more for a shirt, and press it well at the ends where the clips are narrow.

The kettlebell, the weight plate and the heart are the sturdy ones and work at sticker size. On the weight plate the three grip slots are about 14 mm deep, which is room for a short word or a weight in a second colour. None of the files has a number on it, because a plate that says twenty is wrong for everyone who lifts something else.

Shirts, bottles and home gyms

For a shirt, the barbell, the crossed dumbbells and the heartbeat line with a dumbbell are wide and low and sit well across the chest. For a shaker or a water bottle, use the kettlebell or the single dumbbell at 50 to 70 mm. The rack and the monogram frame are for the wall of a home gym or the lid of a kit box.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Can I add a weight to the plates?

Yes. The plates are blank on purpose. Add your number in your cutting software: on the weight plate it fits in a grip slot or on the rim, and on the barbell it is best set beside the design, since each plate is seen edge on.

Which fitness design is best for heat transfer vinyl on a shirt?

The barbell or the heartbeat with a dumbbell, 200 to 250 mm wide across the chest. Both are one piece with no small islands, so they weed quickly. Remember to mirror the design before cutting heat transfer vinyl.

Is the lifter a real person?

No. It is a pictogram in the style of a sports sign: a round head, a block for the body and plain limbs, with a barbell held overhead. It has no face and no likeness.
