Free hairdresser SVG files

Free hairdresser SVG files: cutting shears, shears crossed with a comb, a hair dryer, clippers, a straight razor, a spray bottle, a hand mirror, a barber pole and a monogram frame. Tools only, with no lettering, so they suit any salon name you add.

15 designs. Free for personal and commercial use, no sign-up. What you can do with them.

Comb teeth and other fine parts

A comb is the hardest thing in a salon to cut. On the full-length comb the fine teeth are just under 2 mm wide with gaps of about the same when the design is 100 mm across, which is as fine as vinyl weeds comfortably. If you are cutting smaller than 80 mm, use the tool set or the barber emblem, where the comb has coarse teeth only.

The shears are slim on purpose, because hair shears are. Their blades are about 8 mm wide at the pivot and run to a point, so in wood or acrylic keep them at 100 mm or more. The barber pole, the hair dryer and the spray bottle are solid shapes with a few cut-outs and work at any size.

Tools that suit a salon and tools that suit a barber

Shears, comb and dryer say salon. Clippers, the straight razor and the pole say barber, and the emblem with the pole in front of crossed tools covers a shop that does both. The pole is striped red, white and blue in the layered version. In one colour its stripes are open bars, so the colour of whatever is behind shows through.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

What is the small hook on one handle of the hairdresser scissors?

It is the finger rest, sometimes called a tang. A stylist rests the little finger on it for control. It is the detail that tells hair shears from kitchen or craft scissors, so it is kept on every pair here.

How do I add initials to the hairdresser monogram frame?

Place the letters inside the ring in your cutting software. The opening is about 46 mm across when the design is 100 mm wide. Cut them from a second colour, or let them overlap the ring and weld them for a single piece.

Can the tool set be cut as separate pieces?

Yes. The set is four loose pieces on one sheet: shears, comb, dryer and clippers. Ungroup them in your cutting software to move or resize each one. Kept together at 100 mm, each tool is about 45 mm long.
