Free cookie SVG files

Free cookie SVG files: chocolate chip cookies whole and bitten, a cookie jar, cookies and milk, a plate and a stack, plus a heart, a sugar cookie and a sandwich cookie. The chips are cut out as chunky holes, so each cookie is one clean piece. Download as SVG, PNG or DXF.

Chips as holes

A cookie in one colour is a disc, and the chocolate chips are what make it a cookie. Here each chip is a chunky hole about 10 mm across when the cookie is 100 mm wide, with a few crumbs about 2.5 mm across between them. Holes that size weed easily in vinyl and cut cleanly on a laser. The crumbs are the first thing to go when you shrink it: below about 50 mm they are under 1.5 mm, so weed them out and leave them out, or use the layered cookie, which has no crumbs.

Because the chips are holes, the colour of the chocolate comes from whatever is behind. Cut the cookie from tan or kraft card and glue it to dark brown, and the chips appear without placing a single one. On a shirt, a tan cookie on a brown or black fabric does the same.

Jars, plates and milk

The cookie jar, the plate of cookies and the cookies and milk are drawn so that the cookies touch the jar, the rim or the glass, which keeps each design in one piece. The jar and the glass are line work 3 to 3.5 mm wide, so they need a little care on heat transfer vinyl: press the lines firmly and peel slowly along them, not across.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

How do I make the chips look like chocolate?

Put brown behind the cookie. The chips are holes, so a sheet of dark brown card or vinyl under a tan cookie fills every chip at once. The layered cookie works the other way, with the chips as solid brown pieces to stick on top.

Which cookie is best for a bake sale sign?

The chocolate chip cookie or the cookie with a bite taken out, cut large in card. For price tags and bag toppers, the heart-shaped cookie and the stack of cookies still read well at 40 to 50 mm.

Can I write on the cookie jar?

The jar is open line work with cookies in the lower part, so there is clear space near the top of the glass for a short word in your own lettering. For a longer name, use the split cookie, which has a band across the middle.
