Free wrestling SVG files

Free wrestling SVG files: two wrestlers in a collar tie, a wrestler in his stance, a double leg takedown, a lift, the referee raising the winner’s arm, a singlet, headgear, a pair of shoes, the mat from above, a champion’s belt and a mask. The wrestlers are plain silhouettes with no faces.

Cutting two wrestlers as one shape

A hold is two bodies drawn as one outline, and it only reads if the legs and backs are clear. These pairs are posed with their feet wide apart and daylight under their chests, so the shape still says wrestling at the size of a sticker. The arms and ankles are the slim parts: on the collar tie at 100 mm wide the forearms are about 4 mm across, which is fine for vinyl and iron-on at 80 mm and above. In card or thin wood, cut the pairs at 120 mm or more and lift them from the hips, not the hands.

The kit is sturdier. The singlet, the pair of shoes, the mat and the belt are broad shapes with a few slots cut into them, and they go down to 50 mm without trouble. The headgear is mostly strap, each strap about 5 mm wide at 100 mm, so treat it like lettering: burnish it well before you peel the transfer tape.

Which design for which job

For a meet day shirt, the stance or the takedown at 200 mm across the chest is the usual choice, with the name set underneath in your own lettering. The badge is round, which suits a kit bag, a water bottle or the door of the wrestling room. The collar tie on its strip of mat stands up in a shadow box, and the pair of shoes makes a card or a frame for a senior night. The mat from above has a clear middle and takes a name or a weight class laid over it in a second colour.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

Which wrestling design suits a senior night gift?

The pair of wrestling shoes. Leaving your shoes in the middle of the mat is how a wrestler marks the last bout, so the pair on its own says it without words. Cut it at 120 to 150 mm in card for a frame, or put it over the mat from above with the name and the years set below.

Will the wrestling silhouette stand up in a shadow box?

Yes. The two wrestlers in the collar tie stand on a straight strip of mat that runs the full width of the piece and is part of the same shape. Cut it from card or 3 mm wood, glue the strip to the floor of the box or slot it into a base, and the pair stands level.

Can I add a name or a weight class?

Yes. The singlet has a plain chest and the mat has an open middle. Set the name or the weight in your cutting software and cut it from a second colour to lay on top, or place it under the design and keep the two apart.
