Free photo booth prop SVG files

Free photo booth props SVG files, each drawn with its stick: a moustache, lips, glasses, a top hat, a bow tie, a monocle, a crown, a party mask and blank speech bubbles, with two sheets of six, a pair of photo strips, a frame to hold up and a sign with an arrow.

Sized for a hand and a face

A prop has to match a real face, so the size matters more than usual. As a guide: a moustache 130 mm wide, lips 110 mm, glasses 140 mm, a bow tie 130 mm, a crown 150 mm, a top hat 170 mm, a mask 180 mm and speech bubbles about 180 mm. The two sheets of six fit an A4 or Letter page at about 200 mm wide, which makes small props for children. For adults, open one prop at a time and scale it up.

The stick is part of every drawing, so a prop cuts in one piece from heavy card, about 300 gsm or more. At the sizes above the stick comes out 7 to 12 mm wide. That is enough to hold, but card bends: glue a wooden skewer or a paper straw behind it, or cut the stick off in your software and tape on a dowel.

Card, colour and what to write

Black card with a little glitter card goes a long way: black for the moustache, the hat and the glasses, red for the lips, gold for the crown. The speech bubbles and the frame are left blank on purpose. Cut them from white card and write on them with a marker, or cut your own words from vinyl and stick them on. The frame has a hole at each side for a ribbon, so that two people can hold it up between them.

How to open the files

  • Cricut Design Space: choose Upload, pick the SVG, and add it to the canvas. Set the width you want; the shape is already welded.
  • Silhouette Studio: Designer Edition and above open the SVG. The free Basic Edition does not, so open the DXF instead.
  • LightBurn, xTool Creative Space and Glowforge: import the SVG, then set the layer to cut, score or engrave.
  • Inkscape, Illustrator and Affinity: open the SVG. It is a plain filled path, so you can recolour it, add a stroke or combine it with your own work.
  • Printing or sublimation: use the PNG, which has a transparent background.

Each design page lists the file’s narrowest part at seven sizes, so you can tell whether it will survive at the size you plan to cut.

Questions

How big should I cut photo booth props?

Match them to a face. A moustache about 130 mm wide, lips 110 mm, glasses 140 mm and a top hat 170 mm suit most adults. For children take a fifth off. The glasses and the mask have open eyes, so check that the centres of the openings sit about 60 mm apart for an adult.

Do I need separate sticks?

No, each prop is drawn with its stick and cuts as one piece. Card on its own is floppy at that width, so stiffen it with a skewer, a lolly stick or a paper straw glued behind. If you would rather use a dowel, delete the stick in your cutting software and tape the dowel to the back.

Can I cut these from something other than card?

Yes. Craft foam 2 mm thick is light and safe for children, and 3 mm plywood or acrylic on a laser makes props that last for years. In wood or acrylic keep the stick at 8 mm wide or more, which means cutting the single props at about 150 mm wide.
