Things that stay outside

Plant markers and shed signs live in the rain. Use permanent outdoor vinyl on sealed wood, slate or painted metal, or cut the design as a stencil and paint through it with exterior paint. Paper and card belong in the potting shed, behind glass.

For plant markers, the single-piece designs at 30 to 40 mm are the ones to use. Each design’s page lists its narrowest part at that size, so you can tell before cutting whether a stem will survive.
