Making a wooden sign

Two ways. Paint the board, let it cure for a day, apply the stencil version of the words, and dab a second colour through it with a nearly dry brush. Or cut the words from permanent vinyl and stick them to a sealed, smooth board. Rough or raw timber needs the stencil; vinyl will not hold on it.

For a sign 600 mm wide, scale the words to 480 mm and centre them. The stencil plate of each saying is a single piece with every closed letter bridged, so nothing drops out of an O or an A.

Use a split letter with the name in the gap, or a wreath from here with the name inside it in your own typeface.
