Cards, mugs and framed pieces

The gifts people make most for Mother’s Day are a card, a mug or tumbler, and something framed. For a mug, a design 70 to 90 mm wide suits a standard 11 ounce mug; choose one whose narrowest part is at least 1 mm at that size. For a card, the layered flowers and mandalas give the most effect for the effort: each layer is one colour of card, stacked with foam pads.

The wreaths and frames are open in the middle on purpose. Add a name, a date or children’s names in your own lettering.

Can I engrave these on wood or slate?
