A megaphone with her name on it

The megaphone set has two designs made to be personalised. The split megaphone is cut in two along its length with a clear band between the halves for a name. The monogram megaphone has an open panel between its bands for an initial. Type the name in your cutting software, fit it to the gap and attach it before cutting.

For a kit bag, 200 mm wide in heat-transfer vinyl. For a water bottle, 65 mm in permanent vinyl, using the plain megaphone silhouette, which has nothing to weed. The megaphone with pom poms has a shaggy pom pom each side, joined by small bridges: cut it 150 mm or wider so the strands keep their points.

Cutting a cheer bow

The cheer bow in the hair bow template set is a pattern, not a picture: loops with square shoulders, two long notched tails and a centre strap, cut as loose pieces. Cut 280 mm long from glitter canvas or stiffened felt, it makes a bow about 129 mm wide with tails that hang 174 mm from the strap.

Faux leather and glitter canvas need a deep-cut blade and a strong-grip mat. Lay the material face down on the mat and mirror the pieces, so the blade meets the backing first and not the glitter.

Team colours in two layers

For a squad shirt, cut the megaphone in the darker team colour and a single pom pom twice in the lighter one to sit either side. Press the megaphone first. Go Fight Win, Cheer Life or the team name goes underneath in the slab or bold version at 230 mm wide, which reads from the top of the stands.

Questions

Is there a cheerleader figure?

Not one holding pom poms yet. The gymnastics set has the tumbling poses, a split leap, a handstand and a cartwheel among them, each a plain solid silhouette.

How do I make the cheer bow bigger?

Scale the whole template. Cut 280 mm long it makes a bow 129 mm wide, and the two grow together, so a cut 390 mm long gives a bow close to 180 mm wide, about 7 inches.

What goes on a cheer mum’s shirt?

Cheer Mom at 240 mm wide with a megaphone or a bow above it. The child’s name goes below, set plainly and a good deal smaller than Cheer Mom.
