A wifi sign for the guest room

The wifi password sign is a plaque with the wifi fan cut out at the top and two blank windows under it, one for the network name and one for the password. It has no lettering, so write on it with a chalk pen or cut your own letters at 8 mm or taller. Cut the plaque 150 mm wide from acrylic or painted plywood.

The wifi sign in a house is a single piece with the fan cut from the front wall, for the welcome folder of a holiday let.

Laptop lids and coding clubs

For a laptop lid, removable vinyl at 80 to 120 mm, placed clear of the hinge. The laptop with code has seven lines of code cut into its screen as plain bars, indented the way code is, so there is nothing to read and nothing to get wrong. The keyboard shortcut is three blank keycaps joined by plus signs: add the names of your own three keys in a second colour.

The robotics badge, a robot’s head inside a ring of gear teeth, is drawn as an emblem for a club or a team shirt. At 230 mm it fills the back of a shirt, with the team number underneath.

Song plaques and gifts for gamers

The play button bar is the set of controls for a clear acrylic song plaque: a progress line with a round knob and the previous, pause and next buttons beneath. The pieces are loose and there is no lettering; the title and the photograph are yours to add above.

For someone who plays, I Paused My Game to Be Here runs 265 mm wide on a hoodie, and Eat Sleep Game Repeat 300 mm on a bedroom door. The game controller set has a split controller with a gap for a name.

Questions

Are these the logos of phone or computer makers?

No. The smartphone is a plain rounded slab with an open screen, and the computers and controllers are generic too. No logo or trademarked outline is used.

Are there old machines as well as new ones?

Yes: a retro computer with a tube screen, a floppy disk, a brick cell phone from the eighties and a telephone with a dial. The vintage page has several of them, with typewriters and old cameras.

How big is the blank keycap?

Its top face is about 68 mm wide when the file is at full size, which is room for an initial. Scale the key and the letter together.
