Words first, then a picture to go with them

Adventure Awaits is usually set with mountains, a compass or an arrow. Put a mountain range above the words at the same width, or a compass rose to one side at the height of both lines. As a nursery wall piece it is cut 500 to 700 mm wide in removable vinyl; Let the Adventure Begin is 250 mm on a suitcase and 100 mm on a journal.

Take Me to the Mountains is 90 mm wide on a rucksack patch and about 420 mm on a cabin sign. Mountains Are Calling fits a mug at 80 mm and a rear window at 200 mm, usually under a range of peaks.

Which compass to cut

The compass set runs from plain to intricate. The four-point rose has four long points over a ring and is bold enough for a small decal. The solid compass star has no lines to weed at all. The rose with thirty-two points over a ring of sixty-four marks is the most detailed and is best at 120 mm or more.

The pocket compass is a round case with a loop and a needle held by cross wires, all one piece, which makes a good charm or key fob in 3 mm wood at 50 mm.

Gifts for someone setting off

For a graduate or a couple going travelling, pair the words with the location pin route, two pins joined by a winding line, and add the two place names at each end. The hiking trail sign has three blank boards for places and distances of your own. For a wall, the world map is made to be cut large: at 600 mm wide nothing in it is under 2 mm.

Questions

Why a separate page from travel and camping?

The travel page is transport and luggage, and the camping page is the campsite. This page is built round the adventure sayings and the compass, mountain and map pieces set with them.

Can I add coordinates under the words?

Yes. Type the latitude and longitude in a plain narrow typeface, about a quarter of the height of the lettering, and centre the line underneath.

Which world map should I use on a small item?

The simple world map. The detailed one has 54 pieces and is meant for walls; under 300 mm wide the simple map is the one that cuts.
