Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.54 in (25 × 14 mm)	0.25 mm	289 mm	160	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.07 in (51 × 27 mm)	0.51 mm	577 mm	45	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.61 in (76 × 41 mm)	0.76 mm	866 mm	18	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 2.15 in (102 × 55 mm)	1 mm	1,154 mm	10	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 3.22 in (152 × 82 mm)	1.5 mm	1,731 mm	3	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 4.3 in (203 × 109 mm)	2 mm	2,308 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 6.44 in (305 × 164 mm)	3 mm	3,463 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
