The room: bunting, balloons and confetti

For a real hanging banner, use the banner flag template: one large swallowtail flag with a hole near each top corner. Scale it to 150 mm tall, cut one flag per letter from 200 gsm card and thread string through the holes. The pennant bunting, by contrast, is five pennants welded to their string as one small piece, for cards and invitations.

The confetti designs are sheets of loose pieces. The mixed one has 74 shapes; the round one has 92 discs from about 3 to 10 mm. Cut them from vinyl to scatter over a window or a mirror, or from tissue paper to throw.

The table: toppers, wrappers and boxes

The scalloped cupcake wrapper locks with an arrow through a slit and needs no glue. Cut 229 mm wide, it wraps a case 51 mm across the base. The matching stand tier makes a plate 104 mm across on a drum. The popcorn box, cut 250 mm wide, stands 91 mm tall and holds about 260 ml.

Cake toppers stand on stakes and must be stiff: glitter card of 300 gsm, or two layers of thinner card glued together.

Favours and games

The bag topper folds over the top of a clear bag and is stapled through. Cut 105 mm wide, it suits a bag 100 mm across. The treat box with a tuck lid makes a box 50 mm square and 70 mm tall from one sheet of A4 or Letter card.

The blank bingo card is one piece with 24 open squares and a star in the middle, to fill with numbers, words or pictures for a shower or a hen party. The noughts and crosses board is a single grid to cut from vinyl for a tray or a table top.

Questions

Is this page only for birthdays?

No. It is the paper goods for any party. Cakes, ages and Happy Birthday lettering are on the birthday page.

Can the boxes hold food?

Wrapped sweets and dry snacks, yes. Ordinary craft card is not made for greasy or unwrapped food, so line a box with greaseproof paper first.

What do I need besides card?

Double-sided tape or tacky glue for the boxes, string for the bunting, and paper straws or wooden skewers if you add your own sticks to a topper.
