Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.68 in (25 × 17 mm)	0.89 mm	120 mm	130	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 1.36 in (51 × 35 mm)	1.8 mm	241 mm	35	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 2.04 in (76 × 52 mm)	2.7 mm	361 mm	15	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 2.72 in (102 × 69 mm)	3.6 mm	482 mm	8	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
6 × 4.08 in (152 × 104 mm)	5.3 mm	722 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 5.44 in (203 × 138 mm)	7.1 mm	963 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 8.16 in (305 × 207 mm)	11 mm	1,445 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
