Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.25 in (25 × 6 mm)	0.38 mm	133 mm	270	Too fine for most machines
2 × 0.5 in (51 × 13 mm)	0.76 mm	266 mm	85	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 0.76 in (76 × 19 mm)	1.1 mm	399 mm	36	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.01 in (102 × 26 mm)	1.5 mm	532 mm	20	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 1.51 in (152 × 38 mm)	2.3 mm	799 mm	7	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 2.02 in (203 × 51 mm)	3 mm	1,065 mm	5	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 3.02 in (305 × 77 mm)	4.6 mm	1,597 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
