Ten pines of mixed heights on a strip of shore, with the same trees upside down below it as their reflection. Six rows of slits slice the reflection up like ripples, and a narrow spine left under each tree keeps it all in one piece.

Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.69 in (25 × 18 mm) | 0.43 mm | 397 mm | 130 | Too fine for most machines |
| 2 × 1.39 in (51 × 35 mm) | 0.86 mm | 794 mm | 35 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 3 × 2.08 in (76 × 53 mm) | 1.3 mm | 1,191 mm | 15 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.78 in (102 × 71 mm) | 1.7 mm | 1,588 mm | 8 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 4.16 in (152 × 106 mm) | 2.6 mm | 2,382 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 8 × 5.55 in (203 × 141 mm) | 3.5 mm | 3,176 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 8.33 in (305 × 212 mm) | 5.2 mm | 4,764 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
