Distressed scratch texture SVG

Distressed scratch texture, as a solid black shape — Distressed scratch texture. The preview is the SVG file itself.

Scratches only: long gouges that bite in at one end and trail to a point, nearly all running the same slanting way with the odd stray across them. None cross.

How fine is it at your size?

Scaling a design scales its finest detail too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Smallest mark	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.99 in (25 × 25 mm)	0.3 mm	781 mm	100	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.99 in (51 × 50 mm)	0.61 mm	1,563 mm	25	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 2.98 in (76 × 76 mm)	0.91 mm	2,344 mm	9	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 3.98 in (102 × 101 mm)	1.2 mm	3,125 mm	4	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 5.96 in (152 × 151 mm)	1.8 mm	4,688 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 7.95 in (203 × 202 mm)	2.4 mm	6,250 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 11.93 in (305 × 303 mm)	3.7 mm	9,376 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The smallest mark is the finest detail in the pattern. Below about half a millimetre it is too small to cut and may fill in when printed. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
