Paint splatter SVG

Paint splatter, as a solid black shape — Paint splatter. The preview is the SVG file itself.

A burst of paint: a ragged blot with rays that thin to a neck and end in a drop, more drops thrown beyond the long ones, and a ring of fine spots round it all.

How fine is it at your size?

Scaling a design scales its finest detail too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Smallest mark	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.95 in (25 × 24 mm)	0.33 mm	236 mm	100	Too fine for most machines
2 × 1.9 in (51 × 48 mm)	0.66 mm	471 mm	25	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 2.85 in (76 × 72 mm)	0.99 mm	707 mm	12	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 3.8 in (102 × 96 mm)	1.3 mm	943 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 5.69 in (152 × 145 mm)	2 mm	1,414 mm	2	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 7.59 in (203 × 193 mm)	2.6 mm	1,886 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
12 × 11.39 in (305 × 289 mm)	4 mm	2,829 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The smallest mark is the finest detail in the pattern. Below about half a millimetre it is too small to cut and may fill in when printed. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
