Light distress texture SVG

Light distress texture, as a solid black shape — Light distress texture. The preview is the SVG file itself.

A light touch: scattered specks and a few short scratches, with most of the field left clear. For small text and fine artwork that a heavier texture would eat.

How fine is it at your size?

Scaling a design scales its finest detail too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Smallest mark	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 1 in (25 × 25 mm)	0.3 mm	439 mm	100	Too fine for most machines
2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm)	0.61 mm	878 mm	25	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 2.99 in (76 × 76 mm)	0.91 mm	1,317 mm	9	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
4 × 3.99 in (102 × 101 mm)	1.2 mm	1,757 mm	4	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 5.99 in (152 × 152 mm)	1.8 mm	2,635 mm	1	Vinyl, card and thin sheet

12 × 11.98 in (305 × 304 mm)	3.7 mm	5,270 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The smallest mark is the finest detail in the pattern. Below about half a millimetre it is too small to cut and may fill in when printed. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
