Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.46 in (25 × 12 mm)	0.46 mm	101 mm	180	Too fine for most machines
2 × 0.93 in (51 × 24 mm)	0.91 mm	202 mm	50	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.39 in (76 × 35 mm)	1.4 mm	303 mm	21	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.85 in (102 × 47 mm)	1.8 mm	403 mm	10	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 2.78 in (152 × 71 mm)	2.7 mm	605 mm	4	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 3.7 in (203 × 94 mm)	3.7 mm	807 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 5.56 in (305 × 141 mm)	5.5 mm	1,210 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
