Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.42 in (25 × 11 mm)	0.46 mm	314 mm	190	Too fine for most machines
2 × 0.85 in (51 × 22 mm)	0.91 mm	627 mm	55	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.27 in (76 × 32 mm)	1.4 mm	941 mm	24	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.7 in (102 × 43 mm)	1.8 mm	1,255 mm	12	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 2.54 in (152 × 65 mm)	2.7 mm	1,882 mm	4	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 3.39 in (203 × 86 mm)	3.7 mm	2,510 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 5.09 in (305 × 129 mm)	5.5 mm	3,764 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
