Three fir trees of different heights on snowy ground, a crescent moon and six flakes of snow. The ground follows the curve of the disc, so the scene sits in the bottom of the bauble like a snow globe.

Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.92 × 1 in (23 × 25 mm) | 0.64 mm | 258 mm | 100 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 1.84 × 2 in (47 × 51 mm) | 1.3 mm | 516 mm | 25 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2.76 × 3 in (70 × 76 mm) | 1.9 mm | 774 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3.68 × 4 in (93 × 102 mm) | 2.5 mm | 1,032 mm | 6 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 5.51 × 6 in (140 × 152 mm) | 3.8 mm | 1,548 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 7.35 × 8 in (187 × 203 mm) | 5.1 mm | 2,065 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 11.03 × 12 in (280 × 305 mm) | 7.6 mm | 3,097 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
