How fine is it at your size?
Scaling a design scales its finest detail too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest shape | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.94 in (25 × 24 mm) | 0.91 mm | 311 mm | 100 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.88 in (51 × 48 mm) | 1.8 mm | 623 mm | 25 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 2.82 in (76 × 72 mm) | 2.7 mm | 934 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.76 in (102 × 95 mm) | 3.7 mm | 1,246 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 5.63 in (152 × 143 mm) | 5.5 mm | 1,868 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.51 in (203 × 191 mm) | 7.3 mm | 2,491 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 11.27 in (305 × 286 mm) | 11 mm | 3,737 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest shape is the finest detail in the pattern. Below about half a millimetre it is too small to cut and may fill in when printed. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
