SVG to JPG converter
Choose an SVG, set the size, pick a background colour and quality, and download a JPG (also written JPEG).
Free, no account. The file is read by code running in your browser. It is not uploaded, and nothing about it is stored.
How to convert an SVG to JPG
- Choose your SVG, drop it on the box, or paste SVG code.
- Set the width or height in pixels.
- Pick the background colour. White is the default.
- Set the quality and download the JPG.
JPG has no transparency
A JPG stores a colour for every pixel and nothing else, so the see-through parts of an SVG have to become some colour. This tool fills them with the background you choose before it saves. If you need the transparency kept, convert the SVG to PNG instead.
Which quality to use
JPG saves space by blurring fine detail, and it is hardest on exactly what SVGs are made of: flat colour and sharp edges. Below about 80 you will see a faint haze around lines and letters. The default of 92 keeps edges clean at a moderate file size; 100 is the largest file, and still not quite lossless.
For logos, icons and line art, a PNG is usually both sharper and smaller than a JPG. Use JPG when a website, form or printer asks for it by name.
Questions
Is JPG the same as JPEG?
Yes. They are two spellings of one format. The file this tool saves ends in .jpg and opens anywhere a .jpeg does.
Can I make a JPG for print?
Yes. Set the pixel size from the print size: inches multiplied by 300 for a sharp print. A 5 × 7 inch print needs 1500 × 2100 pixels. The DPI calculator does the sum.
Why are the edges fuzzy in my JPG?
That is JPG compression. Raise the quality, make the picture larger, or use PNG, which keeps edges exact.
