Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.93 in (25 × 24 mm) | 0.76 mm | 311 mm | 100 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.87 in (51 × 47 mm) | 1.5 mm | 621 mm | 25 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 2.8 in (76 × 71 mm) | 2.3 mm | 932 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.74 in (102 × 95 mm) | 3 mm | 1,243 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 5.6 in (152 × 142 mm) | 4.6 mm | 1,864 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.47 in (203 × 190 mm) | 6.1 mm | 2,485 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 11.21 in (305 × 285 mm) | 9.1 mm | 3,728 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
