Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.35 in (25 × 9 mm)	0.41 mm	208 mm	220	Too fine for most machines
2 × 0.7 in (51 × 18 mm)	0.81 mm	417 mm	65	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
3 × 1.05 in (76 × 27 mm)	1.2 mm	625 mm	27	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 1.4 in (102 × 36 mm)	1.6 mm	833 mm	14	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 2.1 in (152 × 53 mm)	2.4 mm	1,250 mm	5	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
8 × 2.8 in (203 × 71 mm)	3.3 mm	1,666 mm	4	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 4.2 in (305 × 107 mm)	4.9 mm	2,499 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
