Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.51 in (25 × 13 mm)	0.51 mm	143 mm	170	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 1.01 in (51 × 26 mm)	1 mm	285 mm	50	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 1.52 in (76 × 39 mm)	1.5 mm	428 mm	21	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 2.02 in (102 × 51 mm)	2 mm	571 mm	10	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 3.04 in (152 × 77 mm)	3 mm	856 mm	3	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 4.05 in (203 × 103 mm)	4.1 mm	1,142 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 6.07 in (305 × 154 mm)	6.1 mm	1,713 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
