Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.91 in (25 × 23 mm) | 0.76 mm | 367 mm | 100 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.83 in (51 × 46 mm) | 1.5 mm | 733 mm | 30 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 2.74 in (76 × 70 mm) | 2.3 mm | 1,100 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.66 in (102 × 93 mm) | 3 mm | 1,466 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 5.48 in (152 × 139 mm) | 4.6 mm | 2,199 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.31 in (203 × 186 mm) | 6.1 mm | 2,932 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 10.97 in (305 × 279 mm) | 9.1 mm | 4,398 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
