The V-shaped glass half full, with one olive on a pick that leans out over the rim. The drink is solid, the air above it is cut away, and the pick ties the olive to the glass so it lifts in one piece.

Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.63 × 1 in (16 × 25 mm) | 0.56 mm | 146 mm | 140 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 1.26 × 2 in (32 × 51 mm) | 1.1 mm | 291 mm | 40 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 1.89 × 3 in (48 × 76 mm) | 1.7 mm | 437 mm | 15 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2.52 × 4 in (64 × 102 mm) | 2.2 mm | 582 mm | 8 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3.77 × 6 in (96 × 152 mm) | 3.4 mm | 873 mm | 3 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 5.03 × 8 in (128 × 203 mm) | 4.5 mm | 1,164 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 7.55 × 12 in (192 × 305 mm) | 6.7 mm | 1,747 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
