Pythagoras tree fractal, order 8, as a solid black shape
Pythagoras tree fractal, order 8. The preview is the SVG file itself.

A square carries a right-angled triangle on its top, and a smaller square stands on each of the other two sides, eight times over: 511 squares. The two squares that stand on a triangle always add up, in area, to the square below it.

How fine is it at your size?

Scaling a design scales its finest detail too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

The narrowest part is the finest detail in the pattern. Below about half a millimetre it is too small to cut and may fill in when printed. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
