Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.71 in (25 × 18 mm)	0.51 mm	156 mm	130	Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care
2 × 1.43 in (51 × 36 mm)	1 mm	312 mm	35	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 2.14 in (76 × 54 mm)	1.5 mm	468 mm	15	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
4 × 2.85 in (102 × 72 mm)	2 mm	624 mm	6	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
6 × 4.28 in (152 × 109 mm)	3 mm	936 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 5.7 in (203 × 145 mm)	4.1 mm	1,248 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 8.56 in (305 × 217 mm)	6.1 mm	1,871 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
