Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.

Size, width × height	Narrowest part	Cut length	Fit on a 12 in sheet	Rule of thumb
1 × 0.76 in (25 × 19 mm)	1 mm	146 mm	120	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
2 × 1.52 in (51 × 39 mm)	2.1 mm	292 mm	35	Vinyl, card and thin sheet
3 × 2.28 in (76 × 58 mm)	3.1 mm	438 mm	12	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
4 × 3.04 in (102 × 77 mm)	4.2 mm	584 mm	6	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
6 × 4.55 in (152 × 116 mm)	6.2 mm	876 mm	2	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
8 × 6.07 in (203 × 154 mm)	8.3 mm	1,168 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic
12 × 9.11 in (305 × 231 mm)	12 mm	1,753 mm	1	Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic

The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
