Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.94 × 1 in (24 × 25 mm) | 0.64 mm | 202 mm | 100 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 1.89 × 2 in (48 × 51 mm) | 1.3 mm | 404 mm | 25 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2.83 × 3 in (72 × 76 mm) | 1.9 mm | 606 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3.77 × 4 in (96 × 102 mm) | 2.5 mm | 808 mm | 6 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 5.66 × 6 in (144 × 152 mm) | 3.8 mm | 1,212 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 7.54 × 8 in (192 × 203 mm) | 5.1 mm | 1,615 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 11.32 × 12 in (287 × 305 mm) | 7.6 mm | 2,423 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
