Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.65 in (25 × 16 mm) | 0.64 mm | 237 mm | 140 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.29 in (51 × 33 mm) | 1.3 mm | 474 mm | 40 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 1.94 in (76 × 49 mm) | 1.9 mm | 711 mm | 15 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.59 in (102 × 66 mm) | 2.5 mm | 948 mm | 8 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 3.88 in (152 × 99 mm) | 3.8 mm | 1,422 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 5.18 in (203 × 131 mm) | 5.1 mm | 1,896 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 7.76 in (305 × 197 mm) | 7.6 mm | 2,844 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
