A row of plain towers standing in front of a striped sun, with a few lit windows cut into them. No real city: the blocks are invented. A fine cut line sets the skyline apart from the sun, with three small ties across it. One piece.

Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.65 in (25 × 17 mm) | 0.79 mm | 182 mm | 140 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.3 in (51 × 33 mm) | 1.6 mm | 365 mm | 40 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 1.95 in (76 × 50 mm) | 2.4 mm | 547 mm | 15 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 2.6 in (102 × 66 mm) | 3.1 mm | 729 mm | 8 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6 × 3.9 in (152 × 99 mm) | 4.7 mm | 1,094 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 5.2 in (203 × 132 mm) | 6.3 mm | 1,459 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 7.8 in (305 × 198 mm) | 9.4 mm | 2,188 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
