A boho arch with the sun half set behind three rolling hills, a fine gap between one hill and the next, and five short rays. The frame holds the hills and a small tie holds the sun, so it lifts as one piece.

Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.77 × 1 in (19 × 25 mm) | 0.89 mm | 218 mm | 120 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 1.53 × 2 in (39 × 51 mm) | 1.8 mm | 436 mm | 35 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 2.3 × 3 in (58 × 76 mm) | 2.7 mm | 655 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3.06 × 4 in (78 × 102 mm) | 3.6 mm | 873 mm | 6 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 4.6 × 6 in (117 × 152 mm) | 5.3 mm | 1,309 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 6.13 × 8 in (156 × 203 mm) | 7.1 mm | 1,745 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 9.19 × 12 in (233 × 305 mm) | 11 mm | 2,618 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
