Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.89 in (25 × 23 mm) | 0.71 mm | 289 mm | 110 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 2 × 1.78 in (51 × 45 mm) | 1.4 mm | 579 mm | 30 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 3 × 2.67 in (76 × 68 mm) | 2.1 mm | 868 mm | 12 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 4 × 3.56 in (102 × 91 mm) | 2.8 mm | 1,157 mm | 6 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 6 × 5.35 in (152 × 136 mm) | 4.3 mm | 1,736 mm | 2 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 8 × 7.13 in (203 × 181 mm) | 5.7 mm | 2,314 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
| 12 × 10.69 in (305 × 272 mm) | 8.5 mm | 3,472 mm | 1 | Any material, including 3 mm wood and acrylic |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
