“Mistakes Are Proof That You Are Trying” set in Amatic SC, narrow hand-drawn capitals, on 3 centred lines. Tall, thin and slightly uneven, like lettering on a chalkboard; the strokes are thickened so they cut.

Will it cut at your size?
Scaling a design scales its thinnest part too. Here is this one at seven sizes, from 1 to 12 inches on its longer side, with how many copies fit a 12 × 12 inch sheet or mat.
| Size, width × height | Narrowest part | Cut length | Fit on a 12 in sheet | Rule of thumb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 0.77 in (25 × 19 mm) | 0.2 mm | 519 mm | 120 | Too fine for most machines |
| 2 × 1.53 in (51 × 39 mm) | 0.41 mm | 1,039 mm | 35 | Too fine for most machines |
| 3 × 2.3 in (76 × 58 mm) | 0.61 mm | 1,558 mm | 12 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 4 × 3.06 in (102 × 78 mm) | 0.81 mm | 2,078 mm | 6 | Fine detail: vinyl and paper only, weed with care |
| 6 × 4.59 in (152 × 117 mm) | 1.2 mm | 3,117 mm | 2 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 8 × 6.12 in (203 × 155 mm) | 1.6 mm | 4,155 mm | 1 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
| 12 × 9.18 in (305 × 233 mm) | 2.4 mm | 6,233 mm | 1 | Vinyl, card and thin sheet |
The narrowest part is the thinnest neck that holds the design together; sharp tips are not counted. For wood and acrylic, keep it at least as wide as the sheet is thick. How to open the file in Cricut, Silhouette and laser software.
